Highlights and Quotes: Jacob’s third-world experience with his family has shaped his life tremendously. “In 2011, my family and I surrendered to the mission field and moved to Haiti to serve as full-time missionaries. I spend my summers and holidays now in Haiti with my family. I often use my soccer skills to connect with children in our village and share Christ with them. Last summer, I helped run a soccer camp that was very successful. Right now, I am not in Haiti because I am finishing my senior year of high school and preparing for college, but I will return “home” to Haiti as often as I can, and I will take my friends and teammates with me to serve as well throughout college.” Jacob understands that his mission experience has affected his relationship with the Lord. “I have a desire to know Jesus more, read His Word, pray without ceasing, and share His love with others. I know what it means to be in this world but not OF it. My life has been changed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and I am so thankful that I know Him and now have so many opportunities to share His love with people not just in my community but in another country as I serve as a full-time missionary with my parents.” |
