Highlights and Quotes: Elijah attends a vigorous academic college preparatory school in Saint Simons Island, GA. Despite his high academic praise, Elijah realizes the platform he has through sports by saying, “Through my participation with the football, basketball, and track teams at my high school, the Lord has allowed me to be in various leadership positions. Through this platform I have been able to share my faith, not only by what I say, but also by how I live my life.” Elijah humbly accepts spotlight that comes with success. “God is constantly reminding me to let my life be like a mirror, in which any spotlight (or recognition) that has been placed on me is reflected to Him. I have found though, that most often the times that require me to die to my flesh and put on Christ, have not necessarily been when my team or myself is experiencing success, but rather facing adverse situations.” Whichever direction life may lead, Elijah strives to stay grounded in his faith. “I seek to walk with Jesus in a real relationship of faith and obedience. I realize Jesus is a real person, a real man and yet He is God. Through the Holy Spirit living inside of me, I can walk with Christ and serve as His witness in His power. I love spending time with God in His Word, in fellowship with others, and through seeking to share the love of Christ with the world around me. |
