Highlights and Quotes:

Courtney talks about her athletic career as a gift. “I started my athletic career without God in my life, and I gladly took all the praise. But as Jesus worked His way into my heart and my being, I realized that this gift was not from me and therefore the praise was not for me. One of my favorite ways to glorify God with my gift now is to redirect all the praise I get to Him. If someone tells me what a good player I am, I thank them and tell them that volleyball is one of my favorite gifts God has given me.”

Despite her volleyball accolades and recognition, Courtney gives back to younger girls that look up to her. “I have found ways to use my athletic career as a ministry opportunity. I have worked at quite a few Christian volleyball camps and have had the chance to teach kids about not only sports but Jesus. I get the chance to form unique bonds with the kids I work with and they feel comfortable asking me spiritual questions. It has been so rewarding to help develop kids as athletes and believers.”

Courtney has an incredible testimony of trusting the Lord through difficult situations. She keeps it all in perspective by saying, “God protected me in my young life, preparing me for a life lived for Him. He now holds and heals me daily, and in return I want nothing but to live my life for Him. I know that all the good in me is from God and I will use it to expand His kingdom on earth.”
