In 1996, SportQuest (formerly Athletes of Good News) developed a unique award program that recognizes and rewards Christian athletes. More than 36,000 Christian athletes have been touched by the SportQuest all-American program. Thousands of dollars in scholarships have been awarded and Christian athletes have received prestigious recognition on a national level through TV, newspaper and magazine coverage.

ENCOURAGE - and reward Christian student athletes for their athletic accomplishments, academic achievements, and boldness to impact their generation through a life of Christian character.

REINFORCE - the commitment of Christian student athletes to excel with integrity in every area of life.

PRESENT - the accomplishments of high school Christian student athletes to colleges and universities for potential scholarships and media outlets for national recognition.

CHALLENGE - athletes and coaches to become greater leaders by serving others.

A SportQuest all-American packet is emailed in the fall of each school year to the guidance department in 20,000 public and private high schools in all 50 states. Guidance counselors are encouraged to consult with school coaches and faculty in order to select the top male and top female Christian athletes from each of their sophomore, junior and senior classes. Once the athletes have been selected, the guidance counselor or coach will provide each athlete with information to apply for the SportQuest all-American scholarship. The school does not need to complete forms or paperwork. The process is quick and easy.

1. Select the top male and top female Christian athletes from each of the sophomore, junior and senior classes. Inform the athletes that they are eligible to apply.
2. Assist each athlete, if necessary, with his or her online application before the February 15th deadline. The online application process is quick and easy and should only take 10 minutes to complete.

Once an athlete receives the SportQuest all-American scholarship information, he or she must complete the online application by February 15th. Each application will be reviewed by a selection committee and athletes will be placed into one of four categories:

1. SportQuest all-American Athlete of the Year
2. SportQuest all-American Regional Athlete of the Year
3. SportQuest all-American Regional 1st Team
4. SportQuest all-American Honorable Mention

Each athlete who submits his or her online application will fall into one of the four above mentioned categories and will receive all the benefits listed in the benefits section.

This year there will be over $6000 in scholarships for college tuition and mission trip opportunities.  The scholarships will be awarded as follows.

• $500.00 SportQuest all-American male and female National athlete of the year
  • In addition they will receive full scholarship* for a SportQuest Expedition to Belgium, Poland, Indianapolis, or Lubbock
• $100.00 SportQuest all-American male and female West region
  • $200 scholarship toward a SportQuest Expedition to Belgium, Indianapolis, or Lubbock
• $100.00 SportQuest all-American male and female Midwest region
  • $200 scholarship toward a SportQuest Expedition to Belgium, Indianapolis, or Lubbock
• $100.00 SportQuest all-American male and female South region
  • $200 scholarship toward a SportQuest Expedition to Belgium, Indianapolis, or Lubbock
• $100.00 SportQuest all-American male and female North East region
  • $200 scholarship toward a SportQuest Expedition to Belgium, Indianapolis, or Lubbock
• $500.00 SportQuest all-American male and female Indianapolis region
  • In additoin they will receive a full scholarship* SportQuest Expedition to Indianapolis

SportQuest Provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Christian athlete to combine his or her love for sports with missions.
